INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study is to characterize health related quality life (HRQOL) in Japanese patients after bladder cancer surgery and perform cross-cultural comparison between American patients. METHODS: Firstly, we cross-sectionally assessed HRQOL 371 Japan using the Bladder Cancer Index (BCI-Japanese). four groups (native without intravesical therapy, native with cystectomy ileal conduit, neobladder) were assessed.
